To celebrate the contributions that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people make to society and particularly to Doncaster, a Pride Not Prejudice event is being held in Doncaster Market Corn Exchange Forum with a party afterwards at Bar NY in the Market Place.
The event will run from 10.30am on Saturday 24 February in the Corn Exchange, with local speakers from Doncaster Council, Police and LGBT community. This will be followed by a day of celebration and fun for all ages with a DJ, karaoke, quiz, street theatre, entertainment and a live performance from the hugely popular classical pop band, Ti Amero.
Doncaster Council’s Cabinet Member for Human Rights and Equalities, Councillor Glyn Jones said: “This is an excellent opportunity to raise awareness of LGBT issues in Doncaster, celebrating the professional commitment of the LGBT community and the positive societal change in attitudes towards lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.”
