Fitness Company refunds Natasha West’s money and stands behind prohibiting use of locker room.
Bally’s Fitness Corporation in California decided to settle out of court in a local case involving a transgender woman looking to use the female bathroom at a Worcester Bally’s. Natasha West, a male to female transgender woman, was allotted a thirty-dollar refund and an exit from her contract with the national gym chain. The company, however, still insists that they had the legal right to prohibit Natasha from using the female changing room, because technically, without having undergone sex reassignment surgery, she was still classified as ‘male.’
