Now that Maricopa Community Colleges has added transgender people to the list of groups that cannot be discriminated against, one possible result could be more students.
Dale Heuser, president of Equality Maricopa, the group that brought the issue to the governing board, said several people were tweeting that they would return to school minutes after learning that the governing board on Tuesday night extended harassment and discrimination protection to people who are born one gender but identify as the other.
