Hyderabad: Things are finally looking up for the gay and transgender community in the state. In its first step forward, the state government has issued a GO bringing the transgender community under the purview of the minorities welfare department.
The GO Ms No 565, which was issued last week by the general administration department, states that the minorities welfare department will be the nodal agency to look into issues pertaining to the transgenders hereafter including their protection and welfare.
