Transgender Day of Remembrance Events

Today Cleveland memorializes those killed because of others’ ignorance and transphobia. International Transgender Remembrance Day, officially tomorrow November 20, came into being in the late 1990s and still “over the last decade, more than one person per month has died due to transgender-based hate or prejudice, regardless of any other factors in their lives.” [1] This weekend people in cities around the world will not only remember; they will celebrate life and diversity through a public display of humanity and solidarity.
