A Milwaukee School Board committee is expected to act Tuesday on a recommendation to not renew the contract for Alliance School, a charter school that serves children who are bullied or ostracized.

Alliance, at 854 W. Walnut St., serves 166 students in grades 6-12 and has made headlines for serving children who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender. Last year, the School Board allowed Alliance to extend programming to middle schoolers.
