Only in a film by Pedro Almodóvar would you see a statuesque blonde lesbian prostitute bust out a high-kicking dance routine in a women’s prison. Nobody but the most consistently bold, brilliant and barmy director in the world would dare round off this madly exuberant scene by having one inmate turn to another and declare, with a perfectly straight face, that the dancing whore, “is a good person; her heart is bigger than her tits”.
