Official Pride festival isn’t until Halloween, but plenty of events mark LGBT rights milestone
This year will be one of only a handful since 1971 that Atlanta hasn’t commemorated the anniversary of the Stonewall Riots by hosting an official Pride festival the last weekend of June, but local LGBT groups aren’t letting the milestone go unmarked.
“I think that happy is an understatement,” said Pride Events Manager J. Sheffield, describing organizers’ reaction to the way Stonewall Week has come together.
