The real issue: discrimination

New Hampshire resident Sarah Blanchette was fired in 2004 from her job of seven years at a local college where she had received excellent annual performance reviews. Why fire an excellent employee? Because she was transitioning from male to female.

Her employers even put it in writing: “As you know, you recently disclosed to us your transgender status. Upon consideration, you are immediately relieved of your duties.”
