In an effort to counter criticism following his “Special Olympics” joke on The Tonight Show last week, President Obama is going to great lengths to prove the gaffe was not a reflection of his true feelings.
“Look, some of my best friends are retarded,” the President said yesterday, “and I think any intellectually honest person who looks at my cabinet appointments– the very people I surround myself with–can see that there will always be a place in the Obama administration for protectively-helmeted Americans. In fact, if the GOP is the ‘Big Tent’ party, the Democratic Party should be the ‘Short Bus’ party.”
