West Park – GLSEN Hudson Valley (Gay, Lesbian and Straight Educational Network) recently honored Ulster County BOCES, Hudson Valley Parent Magazine and Sandy Stones for being community leaders in promoting safe schools for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people.
The Ally Awards Banquet recognized honorees for their effort to make anti-LGBT bias, bullying and harassment unacceptable in area schools.
Ulster County BOCES was selected for its support of transgender personnel as well as support of LGBT awareness programming, said GLSEN.
