Sanand: Sanand is a mixed bag of surprises. The land is just as rich in tales of supernatural as in grit and determination. One such intriguing story comes from Charal village, just 8 km away from Nano site. Legend has it, that a woman Viramai from Charan was passing by Charal when she was harassed by some goons.
Her desperate cries for help, melted no heart and all menfolk turned their backs. An enraged Viramai cursed them saying that since men there are no less than women, now on they will take birth as half-female. Thereafter, she killed the goons and herself. However, there are many versions of this story.
