Sacto trans death called suspicious

Sacramento police are calling the death of a young transgender woman “suspicious” and have assigned the case to homicide investigators.

The body of Fernando “Margorito” Molina, 22, of Sacramento was discovered by a group of people fishing at about 12:45 p.m. Sunday, September 21 in the river, approximately one mile southeast of the Highway 160 bridge, a coroner’s official said. Sergeant Kirk Campbell of the Sacramento Police Department’s homicide unit has been assigned the case.

Anyone who knew the victim, the victim’s recent whereabouts, or who has other information about this case is asked to contact the Sacramento Police Department at (916) 443-HELP. A $1,000 reward is currently being offered.
