A former drag queen has come out of retirement to motivate his community to help a young disabled girl gain independence.

Derek Brown, 47, from Black Notley, was moved to return to his colourful profession of 26 years after hearing about a trike which would make a real difference to little Amy Bennett, three-and-a-half, who cannot walk after being born prematurely at just 26 weeks.

Tickets for the evening are £5 or £15 for a family ticket. For more information call Claire Smyth on 07713 507969 or Mandy Quinn on 07988 687310.
