Hundreds of members of gay, lesbian, transgender and bisexual community gather for event at Kirby Park.
Wilkes-Barre – Hundreds of members of Northeastern Pennsylvania’s gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community gathered with allies, family and friends in Kirby Park on Sunday for PrideFest 2008 – the area’s first major festival for that community.
Pride of NEPA – a social group for the community – has had smaller picnics and potluck dinners since 2005, said John Lawe, executive director of the NEPA Rainbow Alliance.
