Provincetown embodies the art of acceptance

Provincetown, MA – It’s my first all-lesbian flight – the bunny hop from Boston’s Logan Airport over to Cape Cod and P-Town.

Nine women and one male pilot cram into the Cessna 402 eight-seater. The first lesbian in line gets the co-pilot seat with a three-way view of the wavetops and whales. By the time we land, 25 minutes later, we all know where everyone is from, how many Women’s Weeks we’ve been to and how long we’ve been with our partner.

For more than 20 years, this event has brought in thousands of women, demonstrating the power of the lesbian dollar in the male-saturated world of gay getaway destinations. Many of the same performers come, year after year, to entertain loyal fans.
