A transgender female, wanting to legally change her name from Donald to Daunn, is going to the Illinois Supreme Court in her effort to get a waiver of court fees based on her low income.

Daunn Turner, 52, of Lockport, contends that Will County’s chief judge, Stephen White, and the circuit court clerk, Pamela McGuire, have violated Turner’s rights by improperly handling her request to waive fees.

She wants the high court to order the two officials to respond to her request according to the law.
