Ribut was Indonesian, but to judge by his Facebook page, he’d already travelled the world, living in or visiting Dubai, Frankfurt, Germany and Sydney, Australia. He landed in Edmonton in July 2012 on a two-year temporary foreign worker visa. He was supposed to be working in the hospitality sector.
