A sex change civil servant who has claimed she was the victim of discrimination by her bosses has won her fight to have the case heard behind closed doors.
The real-life Hayley Cropper- who claims to be the victim of cruel and threatening taunts from a number of colleagues in the Department of Agriculture – was last week giving evidence against her employers in private after a turnaround by tribunal chiefs.
Previously, the industrial tribunal had refused the transsexual woman’s plea for the media to be banned from the case, causing her to withdraw from the hearing.
