The Focus Is Now On Sexuality

We have left it till now because most people find this a difficult and uncomfortable topic. Why is this? Perhaps this is due to the fact that one’s sexuality is such a personal/private subject/matter.

Other contributing factors are the perceptions and attitudes of the society which we live in.

More specifically, heterosexuality is perceived as “normal” and therefore being gay is “abnormal”. Nor does it help when gay men are portrayed as predatory especially towards young boys and sections of the media promote the idea that the law requires us to tolerate this.

The law makes it illegal to discriminate against lesbians, gay, bi-sexual and transsexual (LGBT) people. This applies to both employment and public services.
