Singapore’s leading drag persona Kumar is taking his one-queen act from the club onto a bigger platform.
For the first time, the 39-year-old will be holding court at the Esplanade Theatre with his new stand-up cabaret show Kumar, The Queen, next month.
But this is, after all, Kumar. Known for no-holds barred and spontaneous risque jokes, which he has successfully dished out for 15 years. In a serious setting like the Esplanade, will he have to tone it down?
Kumar revealed that the show will not look like his more casual Boom Boom Room or Gold Dust sets.
