The American Library Association announced that the winner of the Stonewall Children’s and Young Adult Literature Award is the novel “Almost Perfect” by Brian Katcher. Awarded by the Stonewall Book Awards Committee of the GLBT Round Table, “Almost Perfect” is “a young adult novel about a transgender girl – told from the perspective of the straight boy who falls for her,” said Stonewall Children’s and Young Adult committee chair Lisa Johnston. “The writing is sensitive, haunting, and revelatory,” she added.
