Miracle Theatre Group has a long tradition of producing plays that speak to Latin American culture. The company’s newest original play, American Suenos, continues this tradition but isn’t quite up to the Miracle’s usual standards of quality.

American Suenos tells the story of four characters (three of them Mexican Americans) whose lives become intertwined over the course of the hour-long production. Agustín (Joaquin Lopez) is an aspiring musician, Mimi (Daniel Moreno) is a possibly transsexual drag queen, Monica (Sylvia Malán) is a whiny, recently bisexual teenager and Danel Malan plays a homeless woman who longs to learn to play “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” on the ukelele.
