A measure that would protect gay and transgender Utahns from housing and employment discrimination statewide has been blockaded for three weeks and likely will not get a hearing this legislative session.
Sen. Ben McAdams, D-Salt Lake City, the sponsor of SB148, is frustrated that his bill has been locked up in the Senate Rules Committee and, with the deadline for it to get a committee hearing approaching, plans to make a last bid to break it loose.
