“We’re here, we’re queer – our parents think we’re studying!”
Such chants and cheers echoed throughout Main Street in Northampton during the student-led parade that kicked off the city’s 27th annual Pride festivities. On May 2, just a two weeks before the 5th anniversary of marriage equality in the state, dykes on bikes revved their engines and kids of LGBT parents threw candy to the crowd – an audience of almost 10,000 people, according to organizers.
