One simple rule for decorating your home: Never let lesbians hang your pictures.

?They always hang them so high,? says Robin Barbaree of Atlanta with a laugh.

?But they do know how to throw a party,? he adds quickly.

Barbaree, the national sales manager for Southern Accessories Today, a wholesale home-d?cor firm with showrooms in Atlanta and High Point, N.C., presents all kinds of decorating dos and don?ts in his new book, ?Any Queen Can Decorate.?

And ?queen? in this instance stands for ?Quality Unsurpassed; Excellent and Eccentric, Naturally!? Barbaree explains.

The self-published book, available in stores such as Traders, Yes and Scarlet Tassel in Atlanta, and across the U.S. and Canada, also includes recipes suitable for each room of your home. The recipes were written by Jackie McClure, renowned for her Babe in Total Control of Herself (BITCH) books, such as ?Any BITCH Can Cook.?

So many gay people think they can?t decorate, Barbaree says, that he felt it was time to put his wisdom down in writing.

?My passion has always been to be creative, and I?ve always written, but just for myself, like journaling,? he says.

Barbaree, 42, credits his grandmother for igniting his imagination as a young ?princess.?

?There are a lot of colorful things up there [in my head] thanks to her,? he says.
