A drag queen from Lancaster is about to make a splash on Preston’s amateur stage with a play in which nobody speaks at all.
Ben Muir, 31, wrote the play for the After Dark Theatre company to perform at the Preston One Act Play Festival in June.
Just A Thought is set at the top table of a wedding where only the guests’ thoughts are played back on tape, while they feign keeping up appearances through mime.
Ben admitted he likes to write plays that challenge the actors.
He said: “You know that chocolate ad where you can see the girls’ thoughts, but what they are saying is exactly the opposite? “Well that’s the closest I can describe to what the play is like.”
