Armed with a pair of pasties, a face full of glitter and a show bursting with humor, Harry Dixon has turned in his suit and mustache in order to promote feminism and lampoon politics.
Effie’s Club Follies, a slapstick comedy burlesque group, is ready to set Blur’s stage on fire this Saturday with a joint Halloween show and election year special performance.
“There will be hideous creatures like ghosts and zombies,” said Amanda Knisely, the group’s founder and creative director who goes by Harry Dixon in the drag king world and Miss Effie on stage. “(Republican vice-presidential nominee) Sarah Palin will also be represented, so it should be pretty frightening.”
