Darwin comedy queen Amelia Jane Hunter, on the world circuit, is taking her alter-ego mega-bogan Keith Flipp to Bangalow’s Big Joke Festival.
The 35-year-old character actor and satirist, who five years ago was hosting gay-friendly tourists trips in the Northern Territory, will be among the line-up for this week’s four-day event in the New South Wales township, 5km inland from Byron Bay.
Hunter, who has been among the leading lights at both the International Melbourne Comedy Festival and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, says being part of a large celebration of comedy will be a buzz.
