Palm Springs – The owner of CopyKatz Showroom – a high-profile nightclub in the heart of downtown – says high rent and a faltering economy have forced her to shut down her business.t
“It’s the worst thing that ever happened,” owner Elyse Del Francia said on Tuesday. “I feel like I’ve had a death and a divorce.”
Del Francia took steps to vacate the building at 210 S. Palm Canyon Drive after the Sunday matinee.
The nightclub that moved its female impersonator show, “Make BOYlieve,” and other headline acts into the former Atlas Club in downtown Palm Springs in December 2006 was forced to close for “financial reasons,” confirmed Mitchell Reed Sussman, Del Francia’s attorney.
