The room was black as night when Sity Hall, aka University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning student Jared Hall, hustled through the stage entrance, doing final hair and makeup checks and last-minute wardrobe adjustments before taking the stage for the Miss Diva Newcomer 2008 pageant.
California native Jared Hall is a 24-year-old graduate student who is getting his master’s degree in community planning. With just over one year’s experience performing as a drag queen, Hall as “Sity” dominates the stage at night. By day, Hall is a crusader for local youth struggling with sexual identity crises, working as executive director of the Cincinnati GLBTQ Youth Summit.
