Focused as I was on the budget discussions yesterday at the DART meetings, I failed to stick around to watch what apparently was a lively debate about the staff’s recommendation that DART add transgendered employees to its nondiscrimination policies.

The Dallas Voice reports that the measure failed 6-5, but only after board member Pamela Dunlop Gates of Dallas changed her vote. She wanted, the story says, DART to better define what and who the policy will cover.
