When Efren Ramirez showed up in Napoleon Dynamite two years ago, he kept stealing scenes from everybody else in the movie with his performance as a Mexican immigrant student who decides to run for class president. Now he’s stealing more scenes this autumn in Crank in the role of adrenaline-driven Jason Statham’s transvestite buddy.
Ramirez had fun running around in drag. He also found the assignment demanding — and confining.
He now has a greater appreciation of what girls wear to keep their “honeys” happy.
“There are many times when you cannot breathe in those outfits,” he laughs. “My god, a bustier is tight.”
