Drag queen RuPaul, 47, was famous in the 1990s thanks to cult TV show Manhattan Cable. He has been the face of MAC cosmetics and got together with Elton John for a cover of Don’t Go Breaking My Heart in 1993. His new film, Starrbooty, in which he plays a drag queen secret agent, gets its British premiere tonight at the London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival.
You go undercover as a prostitute in the film Starrbooty. Was it a challenge?
Absolutely not. We’re all hookers, aren’t we? We’re all selling something.
