Montreal – “Saving C?line” is a hoot.
C’est Cheese Productions’ premier production of Mark Watty’s silly comedy concerns a drag queen or two, a psychopathic mother, a psychiatrist and, of course, the superstar French-Canadian singer C?line Dion. It’s self-described as a thriller, but that’s really in jest.
It’s also about the movies, from Hitchcock’s “Psycho” to popular films I’ve seen, but can’t remember the title of.
But, mostly it’s about Mado Lamotte. Montreal’s notorious drag queen delivered a stellar ? and amazingly sympathetic ? performance, Saturday at the Mainline Theatre, that has to be seen to be believed.
