Fargo-Moorhead Pride is an opportunity for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community to celebrate our families, friends and faith with the greater community. F-M Pride, sometimes referred to simply as Pride, is a local, nine-day event that was rated as one of the top five rural Prides in the U.S. in 2007 and 2008.
Pride events occur throughout the United States as a movement in remembrance of the 1969 Stonewall Riots, in which a community stood up against unconstitutional police raids of New York City bars as a way of intimidating and harassing LGBT people, a practice that occurred throughout the U.S. for decades before.
