The tenth installment of Moncton’s River of Pride Gay Pride Week is well under way, with events like softball, bowling, bingo and flag-raising already in the books. This year’s slogan, “Your Rights, Our Rights, Human Rights,” is borrowed by organizers from last year’s InterPride Conference, held in Vancouver.
“Pride is a way to raise people’s awareness of us as a minority,” says spokesperson and Parade Organizer Paul LeBlanc. “It’s also a way to include everyone, and a celebration of the fact that we can live and be respected here with the same rights as anyone else.”
