Gay-straight alliance hosts drag show, raises money for local AIDS charity – by Noah Essenmacher – Vanguard Copy Editor

Drag queens and kings ruled the Richard Thompson Student Activities Room Friday night during the third annual charity drag show event hosted by Living Proud. The show raised $945 in two hours for the AIDS Walk and entertained a crowd of over 200, the largest to date.

Six drag queens and one drag king competed for tip donations in the drag show, and several returned for encores. Contestants lip-synched to pop and dance songs while working the room.
