Northampton – Downtown Northampton will become the epicenter for the revolution in gender rights Saturday as transgender people from throughout the region march through the streets in the second annual New England Trans United Pride March and Rally.
By changing the date of the event from summer to fall, when local colleges are in session, organizers hope to double or triple the turnout from last year’s inaugural transgender march, which drew about 1,000 participants. This year’s theme is “Live Out Loud,” and march-goers plan to live up to it as they call for legal gender rights and celebrate their identities.
