A transsexual prisoner who was found hanging after being bullied by other inmates wrote that she had been “murdered by ignorance”, an inquest heard.
Lisa Woodhall, 28, who became a woman after surgery, was discovered hanging by a shoelace at Eastwood Park women’s prison, having confided to a friend that staff had failed to help her.
Ms Woodhall, born Paul Hayes in Taunton, Somerset, before undergoing gender reassignment, left a note claiming she had been “murdered by ignorance and lack of appropriate care and help”.
