Not only is “Transparent” a poignant family story about the selfish and entitled adult offspring of a divorced California couple. Not only is it an unsettling (and at times hilarious) portrait of a certain ethnic, blithely dysfunctional family. “Transparent” is the first small-screen effort to seriously consider the process of a transgender father coming out to his loved ones.
