Italian newspapers on Wednesday published a photo of the 28-year-old Elkann with two female friends strolling through the Ligurian resort of Portofino, where he was snapped on Tuesday .
The young Fiat manager has been living in New York in recent weeks, preparing to return to Italy. He left on October 18 in order to enter a drug rehabilitation clinic in Arizona .
Elkann’s cocaine problem came to the public’s attention on the morning of October 10, when he was rushed to a Turin hospital in a coma after overdosing while at the home of a transexual prostitute .
