Earlier this month, “The L Word’s” sixth and final season came to an end and it was, in one word, disappointing.
The series finale wrapped up a six-year run of lesbian drama, love and life in a sloppy, unsatisfying fashion. “The L Word,” a Showtime hit series revolving around the lives of a group of tight-knit lesbians in trendy West Hollywood, has pushed boundaries and comfort levels since its pilot debuted in 2004. For the first time in American TV history, heterosexual characters were in the minority among the lesbian, bisexual and transsexual characters.
