MGA glitz comes to St. Louis

The stage is set for an epic competition as the Gateway City becomes the gateway to glamour for the 37th annual Miss Gay America (MGA) pageant, Oct. 8-12 at the Millennium Hotel downtown.

It’s been 30 years since St. Louis played host to the storied female impersonation pageant which was founded in 1972 by Jerry Peek. MGA is the oldest and most celebrated pageant of its kind, having grown early on into a destination-event under the stewardship of Norman Jones, a.k.a. Norma Kristie, who purchased the pageant in 1975.
