Montgomery ethics panel rules in favor of transgendered aide

A Montgomery County ethics panel has ruled that former County Council aide Dana Beyer did not use her position to intimidate opponents collecting petition signatures to overturn the county’s transgender discrimination law.

Beyer, a senior policy adviser to former Councilwoman Duchy Trachtenberg (D-At large) of North Bethesda, was accused of threatening people gathering signatures to put the county’s transgender discrimination law to referendum. A state appeals court later dismissed the referendum drive, saying many of the signatures collected were invalid.
