Kim Pearson, executive director of TransYouth Family Advocates and the mother of a transgender child, appeared on CNN to discuss a recent story involving an eight-year-old Colorado student who was born a boy, but is returning to school as a girl.
The school, as part of the transition, is making gender-neutral restrooms available. Teachers will address the student by her female name, and information on gender identity is being made available to parents who seek it.
