Aug. 25- BCN – Almost four years after Newark transgender teenager Gwen Araujo was killed, the last of four young men found responsible for her brutal beating and strangulation death was sentenced in Alameda County Superior Court today to 11 years in state prison.

Judge Harry Sheppard handed down the sentence in Hayward. The sentence term was determined in conjunction with a plea agreement Jaron Nabors, 23, of Newark, made with prosecutors on Feb. 25, 2003, in the middle of a preliminary hearing for all four defendants in the closely watched case.

The agreement called for Nabors to testify against the other three men. He took the witness stand once in the preliminary hearing and once each during two lengthy trials of the other men.
