Ottawa – The Ottawa police department’s approach to community outreach is a model for other cities, even if it’s not seen as legitimate police work by some on the force, says a study recently presented to a conference in Montreal.
Ann-Marie Field, a researcher at the Université du Québec à Montréal who has studied aspects of Ottawa’s police for much of the last decade, said that Ottawa’s Liaison Committee for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Communities is superior to its counterpart in Montreal.
