Now PC Mark Clifton has been nominated for the Chief Constable’s Award for Community Focus.
The officer, who has been in the police for nineteen years, is know affectionately as `Bernie’ because he shares the same surname as the children’s entertainer.
He’s also famed for his flamboyant dress sense which he says helps him break down barriers.
