About $20,000 raised for popular drag performer injured in motorcycle accident
Max Green didn’t think much of it when his friend Melvin Arundelli came to him in August 2006 and presented him with some legal papers.
“He had to have a surgery last year — it was just a very routine, minor surgery, and there was no expectations that there would be problems — but the hospital had asked that he just go ahead and fill out these power of attorney forms,” Green remembers. “And so he came to me and asked if I would go ahead and sign them, and I told him, ‘Of course I’ll do it, you know I’ll take care of you if something happens.’”
Green met Arundelli at a New Year’s Eve party four years ago, and the two transgender men quickly developed a strong bond.
